Bryce Canyon is one of Utah's amazing national parks, with terrific vistas and incredible walks. You can learn a lot about yourself staring into Bryce Amphitheater. Visions of a boiling crater filled with lava? Or when their is snow white head sentinels guarding the way. Claron Formation’s variously dense, variously iron-rich layers of mud-, silt- and limestone, cut up by water and frost in an 800-foot cross section of the Paunsaugunt Plateau that lays bare the geologic record since the last dinosaurs roamed the wilds of Bryce Canyon.
The walks wander both below in the canyon below and the cliff tops above providing a unique and contrasting experience.
At an altitude of 2773 meters Bryce is well known for plenty of snow, and the long winter spell that can last through to April. The park is all weather area and the accessible in winter, but check to ensure the lower canyon paths are accessible. You will need good quality hiking boots with good cold weather grip and plenty of warm clothes.
